Professional rules
The lawyers of the firm are members of the Bar of Brussels (Ordre français des avocats du barreau de Bruxelles, Palais de Justice, Place Poelaert 1, 1000 Brussels) and, as regards Nikos Korogiannakis, also of the Athens Bar Association and the Luxembourg Bar. They are subject to the Code of Ethics for Lawyers of the Ordre des barreaux francophones et germanophone (AVOCATS.BE) and to the rules of the Brussels Bar, available at avocats.be and barreaudebruxelles.be. The professional title of “avocat” was obtained in Belgium.
Professional liability insurance
The firm's professional civil liability is insured under the collective policy of the Ordre français des avocats du barreau de Bruxelles with [INSURER NAME, POLICY NUMBER – to be completed], with territorial coverage worldwide subject to the policy conditions. Additional cover can be arranged on request.
Fees and disputes
Fees are agreed in writing at the outset of each engagement and are calculated on the basis of an hourly rate or a fixed fee, plus costs and VAT at the applicable rate. In the event of a dispute concerning fees or the services provided, clients may contact the Ombudsman for consumer disputes of the legal profession, Ombudsman Consumentengeschillen Advocatuur / Ligeca, Rue de la Régence 63, 1000 Brussels, ligeca.be, or the Brussels Bar Council.
